GPIU Study 2016 is now open! 

We are pleased to invite you to join the 14th annual Global Prevalence Study on Infections in Urology. The Global Prevalence Study on Infection in Urology (GPIU Study) is a global ongoing web-based study that investigates the prevalence and risk factors of infections in urological patients. It is currently the only database able to provide surveillance data on antibiotic resistance in urology. The study is fully sponsored by the EAU Research Foundation (EAU RF) and is run in cooperation with several international scientific societies. Register for GPIU Study 2016!

Adjunct Secretary General – Clinical Practice


The European Association of Urology (EAU) is currently looking for a new Adjunct Secretary General – Clinical Practice who will work closely with the other members of the Executive and the EAU Board. He/She will represent the EAU and facilitate the development of supra-specialist clinical practice.
Applicants must be active EAU members, preferably have some prior experience in the management of the Association, and must have a clear strategic vision on the subject matter. Four new post-doc/PhD Scholarship positions available

The European Urological Scholarship Programme (EUSP) is proud to announce a collaboration with the EAU Section of Andrological Urology (ESAU) and ReproUnion. EUSP, ESAU and RepreoUnion will grant four post-doc/PhD research fellows the opportunity to take part in one of several proposed research projects on fertility based at centres in either Denmark or Sweden. The EAU and ReproUnion will be offering scholarships of up to EUR 40,000 per fellow.
The deadline for applications is 1 December 2016. Interested researchers can e-mail Ms Angela Terberg for further details or submit their application via the EUSP application webpage.

Record abstract submissions for EAU17

The number of abstract submissions for the 32nd Annual EAU Congress (EAU17) in London reached around 5,000 submissions worldwide based on the initial tally. This number surpassed the abstracts submitted to Munich (EAU16) which totalled 4,414 and the 3,975 abstracts submitted for the 2015 congress held in Madrid.
Submissions came from 84 countries across the globe with a higher number of submitted abstracts originating from Asian countries. In Munich, abstracts came from 77 countries compared to 71 countries recorded for Madrid. There were significant increases in the number of abstracts submitted per topic such as in prostate and renal cancers.
