DEAR_USER

A warm welcome to our June 2015 Newsletter.

We are pleased to release our month's focus on bariatric surgery, which includes state-of-the-art key presentations, standard procedures, and new technological orientations towards robot-assisted surgical techniques, notably highlighting new frontiers in metabolic surgery for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Other topics are also covered. As you will find out, complex digestive procedures (e.g., hepatectomies, pancreatectomies) are outlined. Other specialties including thoracic, pediatric, skull base, arthroscopic, and gynecologic surgeries are also put forward. WeBSurg takes the lead!

Do not miss our next month's focus on robotics in microsurgery.

We hope that this month's publication will help you extend your knowledge and enhance your expertise. We would be keen on receiving your feedback, which will be surely considered. Please contact us here

Visible Patient Please visit http://www.visiblepatient.com , a program geared to promote image-guided surgery based on computer-assisted solutions. The aim is to make the patient visible during surgery through virtual transparency in order to increase the accuracy and safety of any procedure.

Visible Patient has created an original user-friendly online service for the healthcare community. It requires a customized 3D model of patients to successfully plan surgical treatment.

IHU STRASBOURG Please visit http://www.ihu-strasbourg.eu/ , the Institute for Image-Guided Surgery .
Construction works of the image-guided Institute (IHU), initiated by the IRCAD, are well underway and should be completed by early 2016. The IHU is dedicated to the surgical treatment of digestive diseases using cutting edge hybrid image-guided equipment.
